Near the city of Lille (Belgium) there is a very special tree, in Flemish the Achtzalighedenboom. This tree got its name because it originally had no less than eight trunks. It was a popular spot among lovers who carved their names into the trunks. Unfortunately, time and disease also influenced this tree. In 2014 his end was officially announced. With Tree of Bliss, the composer wants to pay homage to this wonderful tree.
