Hans Offerdal (1971)
Hans har hovedfag i Musikkvitenskap fra Universitetet i Oslo, med fordypning i satslære og musikkteori. Hovedoppgaven var en avhandling om den amerikanske komponisten Jerry Goldsmiths komposisjonsteknikk. Hans har også en Master Of Arts fra Kingston University i London, i komposisjon for film og Tv, og et Certificate i filmkomposisjon, fra University of California, Los Angeles. Under hans tid i Los Angeles fulgte Hans også flere kurs og seminarer i komposisjon og orkestrasjon, arrangert av The Film Music Network, og American Society of Music Arrangers and Composers. I tillegg studerte han med komponist Bruce Reich, tidligere ansvarlig for komposisjonsundervisningen ved University of Utah, og assisterte filmkomponist Charles Bernstein ved hans undervisning ved UCLA.Hans har undervist ved Universitetet i Oslo, Barrat Due musikkinstitutt, Fjellhaug skoler og Manglerud videregående skole. Han er medlem av Society of Composers and Lyricists i Los Angeles, og kjente Hollywood-komponister som Jerry Goldsmith, Alf Clausen, Charles Fox og Conrad Pope har vært hans veiledere. For tiden er Hans bosatt i Oslo der han jobber som komponist, arrangør og korpsdirigent.

This march is dedicated to those who feel that playing is more important than talking. Conductors talk too much, musicians talk too much, and not least, parents of school band musicians talk way too much. Shut Up, Lets Play!

Hans Offerdal (1971)
Hans holds a Cand. Philol. in Musicology from the University of Oslo, with emphasis on music theory, analysis and compositional techniques. His final thesis was an extended study of the American composer Jerry Goldsmiths compositional craft. Hans also holds a Master Of Arts from Kingston University in London, in Composing for Film and Television, and a Certificate in Film Scoring from University of California, Los Angeles. While living in Los Angeles Hans also attended several seminars on composition and orchestration arranged by The Film Music Network, and American Society of Music Arrangers and Composers, and studied theory and composition privately with composer Bruce Reich, former chair of composition at University of Utah. In addition, Hans also assisted film composer Charles Bernstein during his teaching at UCLA.Hans has been teaching at the University of Oslo, the Barrat Due Music Institute in Oslo, and music high schools and colleges in Oslo. Hans is a member of Society of Composers and Lyricists in Los Angeles, and has been mentored by famous Hollywood composers like Jerry Goldsmith, Alf Clausen, Charles Fox, and composer and orchestrator Conrad Pope. Hans is currently based in Oslo, working as a composer, arranger and conductor of concert bands.
