The songs are rather on the melancholical side and pupils who like Yann Tiersen or Ludovico Einaudi will most probably like them. Most of them are written in c major or a minor and thus a good exercise for transposing them into different keys once learned. The notes of the pieces range with some exceptions from the big octave up into the 2nd octave, while one reaches to a3. The pieces are dense and close in the hand, with this encouraging to learn a rather relaxed technique. Many of them deal with overcoming technical challenges for example note repetition with finger changes, study of alberti bass, practice of thirds played legato, scale passages, weight transfer on melody line and balance between the hands, rapid close finger studies, chord studies, broken chords, five finger groups, wrist staccato, crossing over with arm movement, studies with fixed fingers. BUT: These are not etudes, the mentioned points are built into the pieces, sometimes just as a passage or only in one hand.
