With this anniversary volume, we are celebrating both the lasting success of our Urtext editions and the immortal music that we are privileged to publish. We here offer a representative selection of 17 piano pieces from our catalogue so that pianists across the world may celebrate with us. Without exception, the works collected in this volume are popular pieces that also reflect the entire range of our piano catalogue. The easy to moderately difficult pieces are suitable for both study and performance purposes.

This 75th anniversary is an occasion for us to look back with pride, but also to look to the future with anticipation. This anniversary edition accordingly contains true classics from our catalogue (Bach, Mozart, Beethoven) whose musical texts have been revised in recent years according to the latest scholary findings. And it also brings into focus several names that have only recently found their way into the Henle programme (for instance, Schoenberg, Bartok and Gershwin). With these we push open the door far into the 20th century and guarantee that Henle Urtext editions will continue to move with the times.
