The 22" high by 26" wide shield is made of clear, durable Lexan polycarbonate. It is designed to effectively provide hearing protection to the musician stationed in front of other musicians, yet not causing impaired vision for the musician behind.
The units height adjustment range will afford protection for the musician while sitting and, since, when extended, it has a height of 66 inches, it can also provide hearing protection to the standing musician. In addition to offering hearing protection for musicians playing in front of loud instrumentalists, shields can be easily positioned around percussion sections to reduce the hearing impact on other musicians. Beyond the benefits of acoustic shielding, this device also functions as deflector for french horn players, when placed behind the bell.
The shield contracts and folds down to a height of 37" allowing it to be comfortably tucked away behind your chair when not needed. Also, the shield is equipped with a collapsible tripod base that makes it very portable and easily transported.
The MANHASSET® Acoustic Shield also has a 1 1/2" ledge, so it easily doubles as a fully-functioning music stand for directors or those desiring a larger music desk, yet not wanting to sacrifice visibility.
CLEANING RECOMMENDATIONSPeriodic cleaning of Polycarb Shield is recommended to prolong the service life of your stand. To minimize the risk of damage, use only compatible household cleaners and correct cleaning procedures as outlined below. Polycarbonate mars easily with wiping action. The use of abrasive, gritty cleaners or hard cleaning implements (e.g., hard brushes, scrapers, squeegees) should be avoided to eliminate the possibility of scratching the coating. Use a microfiber cloth or moist non-abrasive sponge only.
GENERAL CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Thoroughly pre-rinse with warm water to loosen and wash away surface residue, grit and grime.
2. Using a soft microfiber cloth or moist non-abrasive sponge, gently wash with a mild diluted soap or detergent.
3. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm, clean water. To prevent water spots, thoroughly dry the shield with a dry soft cloth.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
Do not clean Polycarb Shield with any cleaners other than those on the approved, compatible list:
o Top Job® Basic, No Bleach or Ammonia
o Joy® Dishwashing Soap
o Palmolive® Liquid Soap
o Windex® Ammonia free
Do not use abrasive cleaners.
Do not use high alkaline cleaners (high pH or ammoniated) including bleach.
Do not leave cleaners sitting on Shield for periods of time; rinse off immediately.
Do not apply cleaners under direct sunlight or at elevated temperatures.
Do not use scrapers, squeegees, razors or other sharp instruments as they may permanently scratch the Shield.
Do not dry rub or dry clean the Shield, as sand and dust particles clinging to the surface may scratch its surface. An Anti-Static Canned-Air Ionizer can reduce electro static charge buildup on the Shield, and aids in reducing dirt and dust buildup that can hinder cleaning.
