Without proper humidity control, wood instruments will not perform at their maximum ability and even worse can be damaged. To maintain their shape, wooden instruments need to be stored at a stable 4060% RH (relative humidity). Wide fluctuations in humidity will cause the wood to expand or shrink, which puts stress on the instrument and degrades its performance abilities.

Boveda patented 2-way humidity control makes it easy for you to protect your wood instruments with precision. Wood instruments should be kept between 40 and 60 RH% relative humidity. Boveda eliminates major fluctuations in temperature and relative humidity inside the instrument case. Boveda 49% RH stabilizes the environment to prevent damage that happens to wood from exposure to fluctuations.
HOW IT WORKS
Boveda automatically adds and absorbs moisture slowly and precisely using only pure water and natural salts.
Just tear open the outer plastic wrapper (if it has one), then remove the Boveda. Place the pack in your dedicated Boveda pouch and position it in your case in an area where there will be no pressure when you close the case taking care not to cut or tear the Boveda pack.

The number of Boveda packs required will vary depending on where you live (your environment), the size of your instrument(s) and the type of case youre using for each instrument. Hard cases made of synthetic or man-made materials generally hold an internal environment better than a wooden case or a gig-bag. A basic rule is 1 to 2 standard Boveda for smaller wooden instruments or electric wooden instruments with a solid or semi-hollow body and 4 standard Boveda for larger wooden instruments.

Step-by-Step Instructions
HOW TO USE:
BEFORE USING BOVEDA:
ALWAYS insert Boveda into a leakproof holder before using in your instrument case. The holder acts as a liquid barrier if a packet is accidentally punctured and extends the life of your Boveda packets. The patented interior material allows water vapor to pass through to your instrument. The exterior is soft, like a polishing cloth, so it doesnt scratch your instrument.
DO NOT mix different Boveda RH levels including Boveda B49HA within the same instrument case.
DO NOT use other humidification products with Boveda in the same case because they will fight against each other and reduce the efficiency of Boveda.
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS:
Remove the clear overwrap from the packet. (DO NOT OPEN the Boveda itself.)
Insert one (1) unwrapped Boveda into each pouch of each leakproof holder.
Place in the case anywhere that allows for airflow and prevents puncture when you close the case.

- Under the neck or headstock

Close the case's lid. Always keep your instrument case closed when using Boveda.

Each Boveda in these kits is individually overwrapped. An unopened Boveda is good for up to two (2) years.
