Peter Klemke was born 1944 in Berlin.
He completed his training as percussionist at the
Bayrischen Staatskonservatorium in Würzburg with professor
Siegfried Fink. After graduation, Klemke got an engagement in 1970
at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, and from 1974 as solo timpanist
with the Nordwestdeutschen Philharmonie in Herford.

From 1976-1992 Klemke also worked at the Konservatorium in Osnabrück as
percussion teacher.
